Over the past 2025, sappers of the State Special Transport Service checked and cleared an area of 45,259.48 hectares of explosives, which is larger than the area of Kryvyi Rih. This was reported by the Ministry of Defense.
"The cleared area exceeds the size of the longest city in Europe - Kryvyi Rih. During demining, servicemen of the State Special Transport Service neutralized 52,499 explosives," the report says.
The largest number of explosives was seized in the Kherson Region - 29,683 units.
In total, since the beginning of the full-scale war, units of the State Special Transport Service:
- detected, seized and neutralized - 260,967 explosives;
- checked (demined) territories – 224,524.36 hectares, of which:
- highways – 1,237.85 km;
- water areas – 99.30 hectares;
- railway tracks – 3,010.60 km;
- power lines – 604.10 km;
- gas pipelines – 101.12 km;
- residential areas – 398.30 hectares;
- forests – 1,376.20 hectares.
