President Volodymyr Zelenskyy instructed to develop a bill on the renewal of the State Bureau of Investigation (SBI), which may be submitted to the parliament for a vote this month. The head of state wrote about this in his Telegram channel.
"I instructed to prepare and promptly submit proposals for the renewal of the State Bureau of Investigation for consideration by the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine. I expect that the presidential bill will be developed in January and immediately submitted to the parliament," he wrote.
Recall that Ukraine has committed to reforming the State Bureau of Investigation in order to join the European Union.
Earlier, MP Serhii Vlasenko criticized the European Commission's requirements to reboot the SBI, National Police, and Prosecutor General's Office selection system. He stated that the commission is offering Ukraine hybrid models that do not exist in any EU country.
