As a result of the full-scale invasion of the aggressor country russia, 11 million citizens have left Ukraine. Official figures are somewhat lower, as not all Ukrainians have registered with consulates abroad.
The Verkhovna Rada Commissioner for Human Rights Dmytro Lubinets said this in an interview with journalist Dmytro Gordon.
According to him, the day before he received official statistics from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. According to the Ministry, 8.5 million citizens left the country.
"But we understand that some do not register with the consulate, so the Ukrainian authorities do not see them," Lubinets said.
We would like to remind you that since the beginning of the full-scale invasion, the population of Ukraine has sharply decreased. As of February 1, 2022, 41.1 million people lived in Ukraine.
In November of this year, Forbes Ukraine wrote that the number of people living in Ukraine had decreased to 30.5 million.
Back in December 2022, the Ptoukha Institute for Demography and Social Studies stated that by 2030, the population of Ukraine may decrease to 35 million people.
And earlier, the Institute of Demography predicted that by the middle of the century, 25 million people would remain in Ukraine.
