Peace in Ukraine can be achieved in a few weeks, but Kyiv must compromise on territorial issues. Polish Prime Minister Donald Tusk stated this on Tuesday after talks with leaders of European and NATO member states. His words are cited by Reuters on Tuesday, December 30.

Tusk noted that the security guarantees offered by the United States to Ukraine give reason to hope for a quick end to the war. In his opinion, Kyiv should compromise on territorial issues.

"Peace is on the horizon, there is no doubt that things have happened that give grounds for hope that this war can end, and quite quickly, but it is still a hope, far from 100% certain," Tusk said.

According to him, peace is coming, which means in the coming weeks, not stretching the process for months or years. Tusk emphasized that by January, the allies should come together to make a decision on the future of Ukraine.

As the Ukrainian News agency earlier reported, on December 29, Polish Prime Minister Donald Tusk believes that it is far from the end of negotiations on peace in Ukraine, although the United States' statement of readiness to provide security guarantees is a success.

On December 28, US President Donald Trump said that the Ukrainian-russian war would either end, or last for a very long time.
