Prime Minister Yuliia Svyrydenko said that the government has decided to postpone the mandatory use of payment terminals for individual entrepreneurs of the first group.
The head of government said this in her official Telegram channel on Monday, December 29.
"The decision was made in response to an appeal from small businesses, for which the maintenance of POS terminals today creates additional financial pressure," Svyrydenko wrote.
According to her, this will enable entrepreneurs to work and maintain income in the face of war, power outages and logistical constraints.
Svyrydenko added that the delay will give entrepreneurs time to prepare for the transition to non-cash payments and choose a convenient payment method in the future: POS-terminals, mobile applications or QR codes.
As the Ukrainian News agency earlier reported, on December 25, the Ministry of Finance said that in the future, individual entrepreneurs will be automatically registered as VAT payers.
Not long before, the Ministry of Finance reported that VAT for entrepreneurs could bring UAH 40 billion to the state budget in 2027.
