Russian propagandists continue to lie about control over Kupiansk - CCD

The Ministry of Defense of the aggressor country, the russian federation, continues to claim that russian troops are holding Kupiansk. The enemy is spreading videos that are supposed to confirm russian control over the city, but in fact prove that the occupiers do not control most of the city. This is stated in a message by the Center for Countering Disinformation (CCD) at the National Security and Defense Council (NSDC).

"The drone video shows a group of Russian soldiers moving through the streets of Kupiansk. However, this video is another enemy manipulation, because in fact the Russians are on the northern outskirts of the city and are leaving Kupiansk. That is, the Russian Ministry of Defense presents the retreat of a group of Russians from Kupiansk as evidence of its capture," it says.

According to the Center, it is noteworthy that this latest lie of russian propaganda is so obvious to anyone familiar with the area that it has been refuted even by some russian propaganda TV channels.

"Russia has been claiming the capture of Kupiansk since the end of November. In particular, this was personally stated by Russian dictator Vladimir Putin. In fact, the Ukrainian Armed Forces have repelled the occupiers and control about 90% of the city," the Center for Countering Disinformation emphasized.

As the Ukrainian News agency earlier reported, Viktor Trehubov, head of the Joint Forces Communications Department, said that the clearing of Kupiansk from the russian military may last for several more weeks. There are still small "pockets" in the city where the enemy is hiding.
