Ukrainian world heavyweight champion Oleksandr Usyk has topped the prestigious Pound for Pound ranking of the best boxers regardless of weight category according to The Ring magazine.

This was reported by the sports publication.

In the updated list, Usyk rose from second place to the top after the end of the professional career of American Terence Crawford. As a result, all boxers in the ranking moved up one position.

The Ring's top 10 ranking looks like this:

  1. Oleksandr Usyk (Ukraine) - heavyweight;
  2. Naoya Inoue (Japan) - featherweight;
  3. Jesse Rodriguez (USA) - lightweight;
  4. Dmitry Bivol - light heavyweight;
  5. Artur Beterbiev - light heavyweight;
  6. Junto Nakatani (Japan) - lightweight;
  7. Shakur Stevenson (USA) - lightweight;
  8. David Benavidez (USA) - light heavyweight;
  9. Devin Haney (USA) - second featherweight;
  10. Oscar Collazo (USA) - minimum weight.

At the same time, Briton Fabio Wardley took first place in The Ring's heavyweight ranking instead of Usyk. The Ukrainian lost his position after he gave up the WBO belt in November and handed over the title. Daniel Dubois currently occupies the third place in this category.

As a reminder, Ukrainian boxer Oleksandr Usyk sold the World Boxing Council (WBC) champion belt for a charitable purpose. The athlete managed to raise USD 1 million (approximately UAH 42 million) for it at an auction. The money will be used to treat the boy Matvey. This is reported by the Blik publication.
