The US Department of Justice has announced that it has received more than a million documents potentially related to the Jeffrey Epstein case. The department noted that due to the large volume of processing, it may take several more weeks.
The US Department of Justice reported this on X on December 24.
"The US Attorney for the Southern District of New York and the FBI have informed the Department of Justice that they have uncovered over a million more documents potentially related to the Jeffrey Epstein case," the statement said.
It is noted that the Department of Justice has received these documents for review with a view to disclosing them in accordance with the Epstein Transparency Act, applicable laws and court orders.
"We have lawyers working around the clock to review and make the legally required redactions to protect victims, and we will release the documents as soon as possible. Due to the mass volume of material, this process may take a few more weeks," the agency said.
As the Ukrainian News agency earlier reported, American lawmakers stated, that they had received a copy of a book with birthday cards for the notorious sex offender Jeffrey Epstein. Among them is a 2003 card with a drawing of a naked woman signed with the name of current US President Donald Trump.
On December 19, Democratic members of the US House of Representatives Oversight Committee posted a new selection of photos, seized from the estate of financier Jeffrey Epstein, who was convicted of sexual offenses. Among the published materials is an image of a Ukrainian passport belonging to a woman.
However, less than a day after the publication, at least 16 documents and files related to the late financier and sex offender Jeffrey Epstein disappeared from the US Department of Justice website.
