The settlement of the war between Ukraine and russia and the achievement of a sustainable peace may take place within the next 90 days. The administration of US President Donald Trump intends to increase pressure on both Kyiv and moscow.
The US Ambassador to NATO, Matthew Whitaker, said this in a interview with Fox News.
According to the diplomat, under the current conditions and with the active participation of the White House, a peace agreement can be concluded "within the next 90 days." Whitaker acknowledged that Ukraine suffers significant losses due to russian attacks on its energy infrastructure, while russia also suffers serious consequences of Ukrainian attacks, which, in his opinion, only reinforces the need to end the war.
"President Trump, I think, proceeds from the fact that the killings must stop. It's senseless. It's been going on for four years. No one is gaining any strategic advantage. And the death and destruction simply have to end," the US ambassador to NATO said.
Whitaker added that Washington is determined to strongly influence both sides of the conflict to achieve a cessation of hostilities and peace, which the United States continues to work towards.
