By the end of this year, the Armed Forces of Ukraine will have received 3 million FPV drones. This is almost 2.5 times more than last year. It was reported by the press service of the Ministry of Defense.
"The role of unmanned systems on the battlefield is growing, and therefore the production of innovative warfare tools is our number one priority. The overwhelming majority of drones in the arsenal of our soldiers are domestically produced," said Denys Shmyhal, head of the Ministry.
This year, 2.4 million FPV drones were supplied to the army by the Defense Procurement Agency of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine. Most of them are drones under direct contracts with manufacturers.
Another 200,000 UAVs were delivered to the military through the DOT-Chain Defense IT system, which was launched in late July.
"The number of ground robotic systems in the arsenal of our soldiers has also increased. This year, almost 15,000 UGVs have been delivered to the Armed Forces of Ukraine. This is many times more than last year," Shmyhal added.
Recall that for the first time the Armed Forces of Ukraine will purchase armored blankets.
