Street artist Banksy has claimed to be the author of a new mural that has appeared in the Bayswater neighborhood of west London.

BBC reports about this.

The work was first spotted on Monday on a wall above a row of garages on Queens Mews. The mural is made in black and white and depicts two children lying on the ground in rubber boots, coats and winter hats with balaclavas. One of the figures is pointing upward into the sky.

Banksy confirmed his authorship by posting a photo of the mural on Instagram. The artist, who traditionally does not disclose his identity, did not provide any explanation for the content of the work or the choice of location.

According to the BBC, a similar mural with the same plot appeared a few days earlier near the Center Point Tower in central London. However, only the work in Bayswater has been officially confirmed.

Commenting on the new mural, artist Daniel Lloyd-Morgan suggested that the image could relate to the topic of child homelessness. According to him, the scene with the children lying on the ground and looking up reminds us of those who are left out of society's attention, especially in the pre-Christmas period.

This is the last of Banksy's known works in London. The artist's previous mural in the British capital appeared in September and was dedicated to the theme of protests and justice, but it was washed off the facade of the building a few days after its appearance.
