Ukraine has risen 14 positions, taking 40th place out of 195 countries in the world ranking on artificial intelligence (AI). This was announced by the First Vice Prime Minister - Minister of Digital Transformation Mykhailo Fedorov in the Telegram channel, Ukrainian News Agency reports.
"Government AI Readiness Index 2025 from Oxford Insights is one of the main reports in the field of artificial intelligence development. Despite the war, Ukraine has made a big leap and risen by 14 positions. We have taken 40th place out of 195 countries and are among the leaders in the development of AI in Eastern Europe," he said.
Fedorov noted that according to some criteria, Ukraine managed to bypass the leaders of the overall rating - the USA and the UK:
99.63% - a record figure for the digitalization of public services;
92.25% - compliance of legislation with international standards.
Fedorov recalled that a year ago the government formed a mission for Ukraine in the field of AI - by 2030 to enter the top 3 countries in terms of the level of implementation and development of artificial intelligence. During this time, Diia.AI was launched - the world's first national AI assistant for public services, a national LLM is being created and the AI Factory infrastructure is being built, AI is being integrated into Mriya, Diia, projects of the Ministry of Digital Transformation ecosystem and state processes. In addition, artificial intelligence is already working on the battlefield and helping Ukraine defend freedom.
Fedorov announced even more ambitious results soon.
"By the end of the year, we will present AI assistants in the projects of the Diia ecosystem. And later, we will present the AI Development Strategy until 2030, launch the AI assistant in the Diia application, and present the national language model," he said.
As Ukrainian News Agency earlier reported, in December, the Ministry of Digital Transformation reported that over two years, the number of Ukrainian AI specialists has increased by 17% - now there are 6,100 specialists.
