A senior programmer of the company Ubisoft, a citizen of Ukraine, tried to illegally cross the state border on December 5 - he planned to swim across the Dniester River. He was fined UAH 8,500.
This is stated in the resolution of the Mohyliov-Podilskyi City District Court of the Vinnytsia Region dated December 12, 2025.
Thus, according to the case materials, the senior programmer of the company Ubisoft was found on the evening of December 5,600 m from the state border line in the direction of the settlement of Mohyliov-Podilskyi (Ukraine) - the settlement of Călărășeuca (Republic of Moldova), where he attempted to illegally cross the state border of Ukraine, outside the established checkpoints across the state border of Ukraine.
He was traveling as a passenger in a Chevrolet Lacetti vehicle directly to the state border of Ukraine as part of a group of people, after which he was going to swim across the Dniester River.
It is noted that he did not appear at the court hearing. According to the statement attached to the case materials, the man pleaded guilty.
The court qualified his actions as an attempt to illegally cross the state border by a group of people and imposed an administrative penalty in the form of a fine of 500 tax-free minimum incomes of citizens - UAH 8,500. In addition, the programmer was charged a court fee of UAH 605 and 60 kopecks.
It is indicated that the resolution can be appealed to the Vinnytsia Court of Appeal through the Mohyliov-Podilskyi City District Court within 10 days from the date of its issuance.
