Long-range drones of the SSU Alpha Special Operations Center shot down two Su-27 aircraft at the russian military airfield Belbek in the temporarily occupied Crimea on the night of December 20.
It was reported by the Security Service of Ukraine's press service.
"One of the aircraft was on the taxiway with a full ammunition and was ready for a combat mission. It was destroyed. The estimated cost of both aircraft is about USD 70 million. The damage to the control tower has been additionally confirmed, which may complicate the organization and control of flights at the airfield," the special service said in a statement.
According to the SSU, this is the second successful SSU attack on the Belbek airfield in recent days.

As the Ukrainian News agency earlier reported, on December 18, the SSU drones destroyed hundreds of millions of dollars worth of russian equipment at this airfield: two Nebo-SVU radars, a 92H6 radar from the S-400 Triumph air defense system, a Pantsir-S2 air defense system, and a MiG-31 aircraft with a full complement of ammunition.
"The SSU strikes on key military airfields, as well as the destruction of enemy aircraft and air defense systems in the temporarily occupied Crimea, significantly reduce its military potential in the region. This systematic work will continue," the SSU representatives summarized.
