An award was presented to General Oleksandr Syrskyi during a meeting with a French military delegation headed by the Commander-in-Chief of the French Armed Forces General Fabien Mandon.
It was reported by the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
The parties discussed the situation at the front, the current needs of the Ukrainian army and further strengthening of cooperation.
France remains one of the key partners of Ukraine, in particular, within the framework of the Coalition of the Willing and sectoral coalitions on air defense, aviation, artillery and military training.
"Russia demonstrates its unwillingness to stop the war and deliberately continues its offensive. At the same time, we are destroying its manpower and equipment on a daily basis, disrupting its plans and holding its positions. Despite the enormous losses and extraordinary efforts, the Russian army is not achieving significant operational results," General Oleksandr Syrskyi emphasized.
The Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine thanked General Fabien Mandon, the government and people of France for their steadfast political and military support of Ukraine.

The meeting was symbolically concluded with the presentation of the Legion of Honor, the highest French state decoration awarded by the Head of State for exceptional military or civilian service, to General Oleksandr Syrskyi.
On behalf of President Emmanuel Macron, the award was presented by General Fabien Mandon.
