Rutte reveals list of countries blocking Ukraine's path to NATO

NATO Secretary General Mark Rutte has openly named opponents of Ukraine's accession to the Alliance. The list of countries that do not support Kyiv's membership includes Hungary, Slovakia and the United States. Sky News reports this.

Rutte also hinted that there may be even more opponents in NATO. This makes a unanimous vote for Ukraine's accession practically impossible, despite previous agreements in Washington.

Due to the complexity of Ukraine's rapid accession to NATO, the Alliance is developing an alternative security model that will be based on three levels of protection after the war.

According to Mark Rutte, the first echelon will be Ukraine's ability to independently deter the enemy, the second - direct military and political support from a group of European countries and the Channel, where Britain and France will play a key role, and the third - guarantees of stability thanks to American resources and commitments.

The allies are currently working on the final form of this "collective package of guarantees", which should make any new attempt at russian aggression impossible or fatal for the Kremlin.

Recall that following the NATO summit in Washington, it was reported that NATO would invite Ukraine to the Alliance when all allies agree and Kyiv fulfills all the necessary conditions.

Zelenskyy is against changes to the Constitution regarding NATO, despite the lack of support for Ukraine's membership.
