The US is allocating USD 800 million to Ukraine as part of the new defense budget signed by Donald Trump. The Ukrainian aid package is designed for two years and provides for ordering weapons directly from US manufacturers, which will ensure stable supplies for the Ukrainian army in 2026-2027. This was reported on the White House website.
The total amount of US defense spending next year will reach a record USD 901 billion.
The bill S. 1071 "National Defense Authorization Act for Fiscal Year 2026" officially entered into force after being signed by the President. This document is fundamental to US security policy: it not only determines the funding of Pentagon programs and military construction, but also coordinates strategic initiatives in the field of national security through the Department of State and the Department of Energy.
In addition to defense spending, the budget includes a military support program and introduces new tools for influencing national and international security. The document also creates a legal framework for changes in US trade policy and the judiciary.
According to the section on "Expanding and Modifying the Defense Assistance Initiative for Ukraine", the law establishes a fixed amount of support: USD 400 million for each of the next two fiscal years.
As Ukrainian News Agency earlier reported, US President Donald Trump expressed hope that Ukraine will act during negotiations to end the war.
The European Union has officially approved a large-scale package of financial support for Ukraine worth EUR 90 billion.
