The port of Odesa is still without centralized power supply. All stevedoring companies are forced to operate on generators, as the timing of the grid restoration and future capacity limits remain uncertain.
A five-day pause in cargo handling by the Odesa Region ports forced exporters to reorient to land routes. The share of rail shipments to the western borders increased from 8% to 12%, while the port direction dropped to 88%.
After a week of downtime, cargoes have accumulated in the harbors, so now only the number of wagons that can actually be processed is being put up for auction.
As the Ukrainian News agency earlier reported, electricity is being restored to the homes of residents of the Odesa Region. DTEK specialists have developed a power supply scheme for most areas, but ask residents to be prepared for possible spot outages. The reason is a high risk of overloading the equipment that is currently operating in an extreme mode.
On the night of December 14, the russian terrorist army once again massively attacked the Odesa Region, damaging energy, transport, industrial and civilian infrastructure. Currently, critical infrastructure is running on generators.
