President Volodymyr Zelenskyy said that there is progress in negotiations with the United States. In particular, he called the frequency of communication on the peace plan and strong security guarantees progress, and promised to report on the rest in the near future.

He said this during a press conference in Brussels.

"There is progress in our dialog with the American side. We are taking certain points forward and communicating with the Russian side. So far, I have no feedback on our latest progress," he said.

Zelenskyy added that he would inform in the coming days. He also noted that even the current frequency of communication on the peace plan is also progress.

"We do not believe that Europe should replace the United States. And, of course, we have the same attitude to the security guarantees of the United States - which will be like NATO Article 5, and we will not need European support. These are different things," he added.

The President emphasized that signals from russia indicate that the aggressor state would like to exclude the presence of Europeans: "The presence of Europe reduces the chances, the percentage of Russian aggression."

"Strong security guarantees from the United States, which we are counting on. I can't tell you all the details today, but when we talk about NATO Article 5, we understand that this is a response to aggression. And we will discuss these details with our partners," he explained.

As a reminder, Zelenskyy said that the "sensitive issues" of the peace plan that have not yet been resolved in the negotiations are the Donbas, the Zaporizhzhia Nuclear Power Plant, and the "issue of money."

In addition, Zelenskyy said that he was aware of the US position on deterring Ukraine's accession to NATO, but emphasized the immutability of strategic goals. Changing the constitutionally enshrined course towards NATO membership is not currently being considered.
