In 2025, one in five Ukrainians reduced their news consumption. This is evidenced by the results of a Rakuten Viber survey, the Ukrainian News agency reports.
According to the company, the study surveyed more than 36,000 respondents about how they consumed information content during the year. According to the survey, 22% of Ukrainians said they read less news, while another 11% stopped following the news stream completely. At the same time, 54% of respondents said they consume news at the same level as last year, and 13% began to follow it more actively.
Among those who reduced their news reading, 31% deliberately avoided news about the war. Another 15% filtered out show business news and gossip, 6% - world politics, 4% - corruption scandals. At the same time, 36% of respondents said that they did not single out any specific topic for filtering.
As previously reported, according to the survey, this year every fourth Ukrainian does not plan to give gifts for the winter holidays.
