Ukrainian Armor developing line of heavy ground robotic systems

In late November, Ukrainian Armor conducted successful tests of the Protector unmanned ground system with the Tavria-12.7 integrated combat remote-controlled module.

The company's Director General Vladyslav Belbas told in detail about the development of the Protector line in an interview with Censor.net.

"Protector with a combat module is one of the modifications of this missile system. In general, we developed it at the request of the SSU as a heavy unmanned logistics complex. Its range is over 10 km, which makes it possible to control it from a safe zone. Our complex has a ton of cargo capacity, which makes it quite unique, almost the only one in its category. One of the tasks of the Protector may be to deliver other smaller UAS closer to the front line to perform special tasks. In addition, it can be equipped with counter-UAVs with laser systems, machine gun remote-controlled combat modules, and other drones, such as intersectors."

Belbas also explains the Protector's advantage in data transmission range - the communication channel: "It uses three redundant types of communication. This is exactly its strong point, which makes it unique."

As the Ukrainian News agency earlier reported, in July, the Ministry of Defense codified and approved for operation in the Defense Forces 8 new ground robotic complexes (GRC), all of them Ukrainian-made.
