Ukraine and Germany have signed a number of agreements aimed at strengthening defense cooperation between the countries. One of them envisages the production of 200 Bohdana self-propelled artillery systems for the Ukrainian army.
The Minister of Defense of Ukraine Denys Shmyhal announced this on Wednesday, December 17.
According to him, the total amount of agreements signed with German partners is EUR 1.2 billion. We are talking about:
- Long-term supply of spare parts for MIM-104 Patriot air defense systems deployed in Ukraine
- Procurement of Ukrainian UAVs for 200 million euros
- Production of 200 self-propelled artillery systems Bohdana on the chassis of the four-wheel drive truck Zetros. The total cost is EUR 750 million.
- Joint production of Ukrainian UAVs "Linza" in cooperation with the Ukrainian company Frontline Robotics and the German company Quantum Systems.
- Conclusion of contracts for the uninterrupted supply of the latest electronic warfare equipment.
Shmyhal noted that due to the agreements between Ukraine and Germany, Berlin is committed to allocate EUR 11.5 billion to Kyiv next year.
As the Ukrainian News agency earlier reported, in April this year, The Washington Post wrote, that Ukraine has dramatically increased the production of the Bohdan self-propelled guns - from six units per month in 2023 to 20 units per month in 2025.
