On the morning of December 18, Cherkasy was hit by a large-scale attack by russian drones. The attack resulted in numerous destructions in the city, as well as civilian casualties. The city of Sumy was also attacked.
The consequences of the shelling were reported by the head of the Cherkasy Regional Military Administration Ihor Taburets and the head of the Sumy Regional Military Administration Oleh Hryhorov.
In Cherkasy, the enemy launched a massive attack with attack UAVs, targeting the regional center. Six people sought medical assistance after the attack. No one was seriously injured.
The head of the region noted that one of the targets of the attack was critical infrastructure. As a result, part of Cherkasy was left without electricity. Currently, power engineers are continuing emergency repair work.
In addition to the power outage, there was significant damage to residential and public facilities. Residential buildings have been damaged in several locations as a result of the drone crash - at least a dozen private houses have been affected. Windows were smashed, roofs were damaged, and fires broke out at some of the buildings. The shock wave also smashed windows in a sports complex and damaged cars. The survey of the areas is ongoing and the data is being updated.
The same night, russian troops attacked the Sumy community with two attack drones. In the Kovpakivka District of Sumy, civilian infrastructure was damaged as a result of the strikes - windows in residential and non-residential buildings were smashed.
According to preliminary information, no one was killed. At least one person was injured and is being provided with the necessary medical care. All the consequences of the attack are being clarified.
On the evening of December 17, russian drones attacked the Odesa Region. The strike damaged a multi-storey residential building and an educational institution, and injured civilians.
