The Dutch government has accelerated the process of allocating EUR 700 million for Ukraine. Part of these funds will be used to purchase ammunition for Ukrainian F-16 fighters.
The Prime Minister of the Netherlands, Dick Schoof, stated this at a press conference with President Volodymyr Zelenskyy on Tuesday, December 16.
According to him, EUR 250 million of the above amount will be used to purchase ammunition from the United States for F-16s, which are in service with Ukraine.
The prime minister did not specify what kind of ammunition he was talking about. It is also unclear when they will be delivered to Ukraine
"We must continue to put pressure on Russia and support Ukraine on all fronts, especially in the military sphere," Schoof said.
As the Ukrainian News agency earlier reported, on December 9, the General Staff of the Polish Armed Forces said that Warsaw would negotiate with Kyiv on providing MiG-29 fighters to the Ukrainian army.
In mid-November, it became known that Spain is preparing to allocate EUR 1 billion for the purchase of weapons for Ukraine through the PURL mechanism.
