Ukrainians have become less trusting of the United States and the North Atlantic Alliance (NATO). At the same time, the level of citizens' trust in the European Union is growing.
This is evidenced by the results of a survey conducted by the Kyiv International Institute of Sociology (KIIS).
Ukrainians have become more trusting of the European Union. The answer "I trust" was chosen by 49% of respondents. The EU is distrusted by 23% of respondents, and another 27% of those who took part in the survey were not able to answer.
Compared to the results of a similar survey a year ago, Ukrainians trusted the EU less. At the same time, there were slightly fewer people who chose the option "I do not trust."
The level of Ukrainians' trust in the United States has fallen to 21% (41% a year ago). Distrust of the country was reported by 48% of respondents (24% a year earlier). 32% of respondents found it difficult to answer (36% last year).
Ukrainians' trust in NATO has also decreased - 34% compared to 43% a year ago. Now, 41% of respondents said they do not trust the alliance (25% a year ago).

The KIIS survey was conducted from November 26 to December 13 by telephone interviews (CATI). It involved 547 respondents aged 18 and older who were living in Ukraine at the time of the survey. There were no respondents who left the country after February 24, 2022.
As the Ukrainian News agency earlier reported, less than a quarter of Ukrainians believe that the war will end by the end of the year or in early 2026. The majority believes that the end of the war should be expected in 2027 or even later.
