Following the talks in Berlin between American and Ukrainian representatives, US Special Envoy Steve Witkoff reported that significant progress had been made. He also noted that a second meeting is scheduled for Monday morning, December 15.
He wrote about it on X.
"The meeting in Berlin between President Zelenskyy, Special Envoy Witkoff, Jared Kushner, and delegations from the United States and Ukraine lasted over five hours. Representatives held in-depth discussions regarding the 20-point plan for peace, economic agendas, and more. A lot of progress was made," the statement said.
He also added that they would meet again in the morning of December 15.
As a reminder, the President released photos of greetings from the US delegates. Zelenskyy greeted and hugged US special envoy Steve Witkoff warmly, and was more reserved with Donald Trump's son-in-law Jared Kushner.
Ukrainian presidential adviser Dmytro Lytvyn said that Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy would comment on the talks on Monday, after they are completed. According to Lytvyn, officials are reviewing draft documents.
Ahead of the meeting, Zelenskyy compared the process of ending the war to "running a long distance," emphasizing Ukraine's readiness for "Plan B"
