Third parties posted bail of UAH 3,028,000 for MP Anna Skorokhod, who is suspected of bribery. Lawyer Oleh Burhela has reported this in a commentary to the media outlet Suspilne.
According to the lawyer, the bail was posted by "third parties" on December 12 in the afternoon. He did not specify who exactly did it. Skorokhod herself had previously stated in court that she did not have such money. The defense lawyer also clarified that the money was deposited "not by the MP."
Skorokhod is currently in Kyiv wearing an electronic bracelet. Lawyer Burhela said that he had already appealed the measure of restraint: the defense asks the court to reduce the amount of bail and remove the control measure.
"We understand that the bail will remain, because the pre-trial investigation is ongoing, but we will ask to reduce the amount. We also see no point in an electronic bracelet: as an MP, Skorokhod is not restricted in her movement in Ukraine," he said.
Burhela also told the publication that on December 15, the High Anti-Corruption Court will hold a meeting to consider the seizure of the MP's property.
As the Ukrainian News agency earlier reported, on December 5, the SSU, NABU and SAPO said that an organized group headed by the MP had been exposed in Kyiv and searched her. The sources of the publication said that it was Anna Skorokhod, a member of the For the Future party.
On December 9, the High Anti-Corruption Court chose a preventive measure for MP Anna Skorohod in the form of bail in the amount of UAH 3,028,000.
For her part, Skorokhod said she had filed a petition with the NABU detective demanding permission to publish the full materials of the pre-trial investigation in the media. According to her, instead of accusing her of "receiving undue advantage," the investigation is charging her with "incitement," which she disagrees with and will continue to publicize the case.
