The Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, General Oleksandr Syrskyi, visited the military command bodies, that continue the operation and hold the defense of the Pokrovsk-Myrnohrad agglomeration, on a working trip.
This is stated in his message on Facebook.
"The situation remains difficult. The enemy is trying to increase pressure on our defensive positions, is transferring additional reserves here. Based on the results of the reports, I have specified the tasks for the commanders of army corps and units that hold the borders in the Pokrovsk Axis," the military commander wrote.
According to him, specific steps have been identified to strengthen the defense, including maintaining the stable operation of important logistical routes, to increase the effectiveness of fire impact, improve coordination between units, and provide units with everything necessary.
"We remain faithful to the tactics of active defense. This is about improving the operational position, conducting local operations to oust the enemy from certain territories, creating conditions for the next maneuvers of our forces," Oleksandr Syrskyi said.
He noted that Ukrainian soldiers and commanders are aware of their responsibility and are adequately fulfilling the tasks set before them.
The Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine awarded the servicemen with high state and departmental awards, including the Order of Bohdan Khmelnytskyi, 1st degree, honorary breastplates of the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine "Cross of Merit", "Steel Cross", "Silver Cross", "Cross "Military Honor".
"This is recognition of their dedication to the cause of defending Ukraine and high professionalism. Once again, I sincerely thank each soldier for their steadfastness, courage and effectiveness in destroying the russian occupiers," he added.
