On December 10, the Cabinet of Ministers adopted a resolution on the transformation of the state enterprise Guaranteed Buyer, which performs the function of the state in purchasing green energy from private producers, into a joint-stock company of the same name, 100 percent of whose shares will continue to belong to the state.
This is stated in a message on the government portal, Ukrainian News Agency reports.
"The decision was made within the framework of the implementation of the government action plan, which is aimed at updating the composition of the supervisory boards of enterprises of the fuel and energy complex," the message says.
The resolution approves:
- the charter of JSC Guaranteed Buyer;
- the provisions on the principles of forming the supervisory board of the Company;
- the provisions on the supervisory board of JSC Guaranteed Buyer;
- the decision on the issue of shares of the company.
The duties of the head of the executive body of the company are entrusted to the head of the enterprise - Vladyslav Novikov.
Guaranteed Buyer - an enterprise that acts as an intermediary in the electricity market, ensures the purchase of electricity from producers (especially "green" plants) at a "green tariff" and supplies it to the population and other consumers in order to support the development of renewable energy and the stability of the energy system.
As Ukrainian News Agency earlier reported, in mid-November, against the backdrop of a corruption scandal in the energy sector, the Cabinet of Ministers approved an action plan to update the composition of the supervisory boards and executive bodies of state-owned companies of the fuel and energy complex.
