In 2025, Ukrzaliznytsia ups number of tickets to EU countries by 20%

In 2025, Ukraine managed to achieve noticeable progress in the development of railway connections with EU countries, namely, to increase the supply of tickets in this direction by 20% compared to 2024 to 8,000 seats per day.

This is stated in a message from the Ministry of Development of Communities and Territories, Ukrainian News Agency reports.

The message states that this was facilitated, in particular, by the launch of new routes:

- Kyiv - Bucharest,

- Kharkiv - Przemyśl,

- Kremenchuk - Przemyśl,

- Kryvyi Rih - Przemyśl.

Thus, for the first time since Independence, a new European-standard track was built on the Chop - Uzhhorod section (22 km long).

From now on, direct non-stop trains will run from Uzhhorod to Austria, Slovakia and Hungary.

And the new train schedule for 2026 provides for convenient night trains to Uzhhorod from other regions of the country.

It is noted that a pilot project has also been introduced, within the framework of which border and customs control of passengers heading to Poland will be carried out directly during the movement, and this will reduce the travel time by about an hour.

As Ukrainian News Agency earlier reported, in 2026, Ukrzaliznytsia will launch 11 new trains and offer an additional 2 million seats, namely, 8 new international connections and 3 domestic ones will appear.
