The son of the first Ukrainian cosmonaut Leonid Kadeniuk could have committed suicide, as he had a nervous breakdown on the eve of his death, and neighbors did not hear any sounds of struggle. This is stated in a report by the Kyiv police on Wednesday, December 10.

Law enforcement officers analyzed video from surveillance cameras, interviewed witnesses, and found that Kadeniuk's son had been suffering from depressive disorders for a long time, and on the eve of his death he had a nervous breakdown.

"It has been preliminarily established that at the time of the incident, the front door to the apartment was locked and had no signs of forced entry, and the knife that allegedly caused the injuries was held in the deceased's hand. In addition, the interviewed residents of the house reported that they did not hear any noise or sounds of a struggle," the statement said.

Criminal proceedings have been initiated under the article of premeditated murder with an additional note of "suicide". Currently, the body of the deceased has been sent for forensic examination to establish the final cause of death.
