The Syzran oil refinery in russia has suspended its operations after a recent strike by the Ukrainian Defense Forces.
It was reported by Reuters, citing its own sources.
According to the agency's interlocutors, the drones hit the crude oil distillation unit AVT-6, a key piece of equipment at the plant. The same unit was already attacked in the summer, when repairs lasted about two weeks.
One of the Reuters sources noted that the current repair work could take up to a month.
On December 5, the Ukrainian military hit the Syzran refinery. The General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine reported about the damage to the primary oil purification unit ELOU-AVT-6. As of early December, the plant has suspended primary crude oil processing and is operating at less than 50% of its design capacity with a complete shutdown of key units.
