Moldova to extend temporary protection for Ukrainian refugees

The Ministry of Internal Affairs of Moldova will extend the mechanism of temporary protection for Ukrainians who were forced to leave their country due to the war. This is reported by NewsMaker.

Thus, Moldova joined the EU decision to extend temporary protection until March 4, 2027.

The Ministry of Internal Affairs reported that it is ready to continue to "provide safe and effective conditions for refugees from Ukraine." The department also reported that it will continue to cooperate with state institutions, local authorities and international partners to implement support measures.

In turn, the EU Council said that the reasons for introducing temporary protection remain relevant: the situation in Ukraine remains unstable and associated with serious risks. And they recalled that the humanitarian situation remains difficult, and most refugees cannot yet return home.
