Over 7,000 digital officers will appear in the Security and Defense Forces of Ukraine to accelerate the digitalization of the army. This was announced by the First Vice Prime Minister - Minister of Digital Transformation Mykhailo Fedorov in the Telegram channel, Ukrainian News Agency reports.
"Together with the Ministry of Defense and the General Staff, we are building a single digital IT vertical. Soon, more than 7,000 digital officers will appear in the Security and Defense Forces, who will work in all commands and branches of the military - starting from the battalion," he said.
According to him, the tasks of digital officers are: to implement systems in units; to collect and provide feedback; to understand real needs; to become customers and architects of solutions; to form an IT culture in the Defense Forces.
"Thanks to the new structure, we will be able to significantly accelerate the digitalization of the army. More effectively implement digital products in the army, systematically receive feedback and scale the best initiatives of the military," the minister noted.
Fedorov noted that at the state level, a unique organizational structure has already been built - the CDTO (Chief Digital Transformation Officer) institute; today, digital transformation deputies work in ministries, regional councils, local governments and communities and help digitize every sphere of life - from healthcare to the economy and social sphere.
He is confident that scaling the successful experience of CDTO to the entire vertical of the Security and Defense Forces will help Ukraine gain an additional advantage in technological warfare.
Fedorov named the priorities for defense digitalization: accounting, logistics, procurement, weapons supply and convenient services for the military.
He noted that the "Impulse" military personnel accounting system is already operational, the Reserve+ mobile application for military conscripts is already used by 6 million Ukrainians, the Army+ application is used by about a million military personnel, SAP defense resource accounting is being actively implemented, the Delta system has become a key platform for collecting data from the battlefield, and thanks to the DOT-Chain Defence marketplace, the necessary means quickly reach the front.
As Ukrainian News Agency earlier reported, 10 types of online deferments for military conscripts are available in the Reserve+ mobile application.
Since October, military personnel can submit an electronic report on a change of place of service between the Armed Forces of Ukraine and the National Guard of Ukraine in the Army+ application.
