Syrskyi says Ukrainian Armed Forces keep holding positions in Pokrovsk and Myrnohrad

The Ukrainian Defense Forces continue to hold certain areas directly in Pokrovsk and Myrnohrad, Donetsk Region, and block attempts by the russian occupiers to accumulate infantry groups and try to advance past these cities. The Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, Oleksandr Syrskyi, announced this on Thursday, December 4.

Syrskyi called the stage of the defense of the Pokrovsk-Myrnohrad agglomeration extremely difficult, so he again worked with the commanders of the groups of troops, commanders of corps, brigades, regiments and individual battalions in this direction. According to him, battles are ongoing, in which Ukrainian commanders understand the importance of preserving the lives and health of their subordinates, while the occupiers do not take into account the losses of manpower.

"Ukrainian units continue to hold the northern part of Pokrovsk. In the area of Pokrovsk and Myrnohrad, we are actively blocking the enemy's attempts to accumulate assault infantry groups and advance around these settlements. Our soldiers continue to hold certain areas directly in the cities," Syrskyi emphasized.

At a meeting with commanders, decisions were made on additional logistical routes, timely medical evacuation, as well as conducting counter-battery combat and countering enemy UAVs.
