President Volodymyr Zelenskyy has appointed the First Deputy Secretary of the National Security and Defense Council (NSDC) Yevhenii Ostrianskyi as the head of the interdepartmental Commission on Military-Technical Cooperation and Export Control, relieving Deputy Defense Minister Serhii Boiev of these duties. This is stated in Decree No. 876 of December 3, the Ukrainian News agency reports.
The head of the interdepartmental commission was instructed to submit proposals on the personal composition of the commission within two weeks.
Zelenskyy appointed Yevhenii Ostrianskyi as the First Deputy Secretary of the National Security and Defense Council in October, replacing former Armed Forces Commander-in-Chief Ruslan Khomchak, who had held the post since 2021.
National Security and Defense Council Secretary Rustem Umerov called Ostrianskyi "an expert in strategic planning and defense management."
Before this appointment, Ostrianskyi had been the deputy chief of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine since the end of May.
Ostrianskyi is a member of Ukraine's delegation to participate in negotiations with the United States and other international partners of Ukraine, as well as with representatives of russia to achieve peace
Boiev has been the head of this commission since May.
As the Ukrainian News agency earlier reported, in October, Zelenskyy instructed Defense Minister Denys Shmyhal to start exporting weapons from November.
