The Ukrainian Defense Forces continue to conduct a defensive operation in Pokrovsk, and Bild's information about the complete capture of the city by russian troops is not true. The report about the "battle over" is false. This is reported by Ukrinform.
Commenting on the situation after the denial of Bild's information, the spokesman for the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, Dmytro Lykhovii, emphasized that the situation in Pokrovsk remains extremely difficult, but the Armed Forces of Ukraine continue to hold the northern part of the city and are conducting active actions to counter the enemy.
"The position of the Ukrainian command remains stable. The situation in Pokrovsk is extremely difficult. But the Defense Forces continue to hold the northern part of the city approximately along the railway line. Our units are also actively taking action to eliminate enemy cells. Both in the Pokrovsk and Myrnohrad areas, measures are being taken to establish logistics, and the enemy's attempts to accumulate assault infantry groups and advance around settlements are being blocked," said an officer of the Main Communications Directorate.
As Ukrainian News Agency earlier reported, the General Staff previously denied the russian federation's statements about the capture of Pokrovsk, Vovchansk, and Kupyansk.
American military analysts from ISW noted that russian state media are spreading false statements by russian dictator vladimir putin that the front line in Ukraine "will inevitably collapse," likely with the aim of forcing the West and Ukraine to capitulate to russia's demands, which it cannot provide with military means.
