The Ukrainian delegation reported to President Volodymyr Zelenskyy details of negotiations with the US that cannot be heard over the phone. Zelenskyy announced this on the Telegram channel, Ukrainian News Agency reports.
"A detailed report from the Ukrainian delegation after all the meetings in the United States. We discussed things in person that cannot be heard over the phone. Rustem Umerov and the participants in the talks in Florida reported on the main accents of the American side in the dialogue. The work was carried out on the basis of the Geneva Document, and this document was finalized," he said.
Zelenskyy said that during the meetings of the delegations of Ukraine and the United States, Chief of the General Staff Andrii Gnatov informed the American partners about the real situation at the front, with the participation of intelligence, a discussion took place on the prospects for implementing certain steps on the front and the issues of ensuring security from russian strikes and disruptions of agreements in the event of a ceasefire.
Zelenskyy noted that the russians have already launched new disinformation campaigns in preparation for their meetings with the American side.
"I instructed to continue our most constructive work with President Trump's team, as well as with European partners. Ukrainian intelligence will pass on to our partners the information we have about russia's true intentions and its attempts to use diplomatic work as a cover to ease sanctions and block important collective European decisions," he said.
Zelenskyy stressed that Ukraine takes all diplomatic work seriously and is interested in real peace and guaranteed security.
"It is precisely this interest that needs to be squeezed out of the russian side, and this task can only be implemented together with our partners. The Secretary of the National Security and Defense Council of Ukraine will be in constant contact with America to determine the schedule of further meetings," the President noted.
As Ukrainian News Agency earlier reported, on Tuesday, December 2, Zelenskyy arrived in Ireland on his first official visit.
On December 1, Secretary of the National Security and Defense Council Rustem Umerov reported that the Ukrainian delegation managed to achieve significant progress in negotiations with the American side in Florida (USA).
On November 30, Dmitry Peskov, press secretary of russian dictator vladimir putin, said that next week, the US Special Envoy to the Middle East, Steve Witkoff, will visit Moscow to discuss a "peace plan" to end the war. Witkoff's visit to Moscow is expected on December 2.
