The State Customs Service, within the framework of the implementation of the state sanctions policy and the protection of economic interests, has applied sanctions to sea vessels for the first time and launched a system for their identification.
The Customs Service announced this on its Telegram channel, Ukrainian News Agency reports.
"After signing the Decree of the President of Ukraine No. 860/2025 of November 25, 2025, which for the first time in Ukraine applied sanctions directly to sea vessels of the aggressor country for a period of 10 years, the State Customs Service in the shortest possible time developed and implemented specialized software "Sanctions of Sea Vessels", which allows customs authorities to promptly identify sanctioned objects and ensure control over their prevention of entry into the territory of the country," the report says.
It is noted that previously special restrictive measures were applied exclusively to individuals and legal entities.
As of today, 56 sea vessels have been added to the sanctions list.
In the event of a sanctioned vessel entering the port, the customs office records its status and refuses customs clearance, which makes it impossible to unload or load it.
On November 25, President Volodymyr Zelenskyy signed a decree on the implementation of the decision of the National Security and Defense Council on the application of sanctions against 56 sea vessels that illegally entered the ports of Ukraine temporarily occupied by russia and exported Ukrainian food products in 2022-2025.
As Ukrainian News Agency earlier reported, the Sea Ports Administration will purchase a Romanian tugboat from a company whose co-owner may be under sanctions for supporting the war.
