US President Donald Trump's special envoy Steve Witkoff will travel to moscow on Monday, December 1. The trip comes after Ukrainian and American delegations held talks in Miami on a peace plan to resolve the war.

It was reported by CNN with reference to an American official.

It is noted that during his trip to the russian capital, Witkoff is expected to meet with president vladimir putin. It will take place the day after Witkoff, US Secretary of State Marco Rubio and Jared Kushner met with a high-ranking Ukrainian delegation in Florida.

After the meeting, Rubio said that progress has been made, but that there is still much work to be done. He said that US officials had “been in touch in varying degrees with the Russian side, but we have a pretty good understanding of their views as well.”

It is unclear whether Kushner will accompany Witkoff to russia. Last week, President Donald Trump suggested that his son-in-law might travel with the special envoy.

As a reminder, The Wall Street Journal reported, citing its own sources, that the Ukrainian and American delegations at the talks in Miami discussed the holding of elections and the exchange of territories between Ukraine and the aggressor country russia.

Meanwhile, following the talks in Miami, Trump noted that the negotiations "are going along well" and referred to the "corruption situation" in Ukraine

Earlier, Bloomberg published a transcript of a phone call between Witkoff and Yuri Ushakov, vladimir putin's top foreign policy adviser. During the phone call, Witkoff gave instructions on how russian dictator vladimir putin should talk to US President Donald Trump and also proposed a 20-point peace plan. Regarding the plan, Witkoff said that it would require "Donetsk and maybe a land swap somewhere."
