In Kyiv, a woman voluntarily gave strangers 57 gold bars and USD 140,000 because she thought they would hand them over to the SSU to return her property seized by the special service.
This is evidenced by data of the court register, the Ukrainian News agency reports.
One of the strangers pretended to be an employee of the Security Service of Ukraine, another gave the impression of a courier, and the third was a driver.

On November 13, near the Novus supermarket at 17 Lvivska Street, Kyiv, under the pretext of receiving a parcel containing the woman's money and valuables to hand over to the SSU, a stranger met with her and told her the code-password "1236", agreed with other accomplices in advance, which allegedly confirmed his participation in the seizure of her property by the special services, but he was unable and unwilling to fulfill his obligations.
The strangers misled the woman into believing that she was handing over gold and money to SSU officers. She handed over USD 140,000, EUR 2,260 and 57 gold bars of 999 gold standard weighing 100 grams each, with a total value of UAH 31,504,698.
After that, the strangers disappeared. Two of the suspects are unemployed, the third works as an aircraft parts assembler. The court imposed pre-trial restraints on them - arrest with bail for two of them, and night house arrest for the third
As the Ukrainian News agency earlier reported, a millionaire MP was robbed near the Novus supermarket in Kyiv.
