President Volodymyr Zelenskyy intends to draw a "red line" on the most controversial issue in the next phase of negotiations to end the war in Ukraine - russia's demand to transfer part of Ukraine's sovereign territory to it. The head of the President's Office, Andrii Yermak, said in an interview with Simon Shuster that as long as Zelenskyy remains president, he will not agree to cede territory in exchange for peace.

According to him, "no sane person" would sign a document on the abandonment of territory today.

"As long as Zelenskyy is president, no one should expect us to give up the territories. He will not sign any concessions. This is prohibited by the Constitution. No one has the right to do so unless they want to go against the Ukrainian Constitution and the Ukrainian people," Yermak said.

With regard to the territories, Ukraine is ready to discuss only one thing: where exactly to draw the line of demarcation between the control zones of the parties.

"All we can really talk about now is defining the line of contact," Yermak said, "and that's what we need to do."

Reminder, putin refused to negotiate on the current front line and demanded the withdrawal of the Ukrainian Armed Forces from the "territories occupied by them".
