Ukrainian defense forces have cleared about a third of Pokrovsk, Donetsk Region, from the soldiers of the russian aggressor country's army over the past week. The Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, General Oleksandr Syrskyi, has stated this.
According to him, the Ukrainian military are blocking the occupiers' attempts to storm Pokrovsk and neighboring Myrnohrad with small infantry groups.
"For this purpose, as well as to restore the lost positions, our certain units are carrying out active actions," Syrskyi wrote.
He added that over the past week in Pokrovsk, the Ukrainian military searched for and destroyed the enemy on an area of about 11.5 square kilometers. This is almost a third of the city (the total area is 29.7 square kilometers).
The russians suffered significant losses due to the actions of the Ukrainian army. This forced them to use their operational reserve in the area of Pokrovsk and Myrnohrad.
"The aggressor is trying to constantly change the direction of attacks here, using insidious infiltration tactics, including disguising itself as a civilian population or hiding behind it," noted Syrskyi.
As the Ukrainian News agency earlier reported, on November 22, the East bmilitary grouping said that deteriorating weather conditions and thick fog did not help the occupiers to make a breakthrough in the center of Pokrovsk.
On November 14, Ukrainian Armed Forces Commander-in-Chief Syrskyi said that in the area of Pokrovsk and Myrnohrad, the Ukrainian military had developed countermeasures to the plans of the russian federation.
