Fatty dairy products will continue to fall in price in Ukraine, by the New Year the price drop may reach 30-35% and the trend will continue until the first half of 2026.

Olena Zhupinas, Deputy Director General of the Association of Milk Producers (AMP), has said this on the air of the Ukrainian Information Service, Interfax Ukraine reports.

According to the expert, the main reason for the reduction in the price of dairy products is the reduction in the cost of products on the European market.

"Since the end of summer, butter prices in the world have fallen by more than 30%. Last year, Ukrainian exporters sold this product to the EU for EUR 7 per kilogram. Now this cost is no higher than EUR 4.5," explained Zhupinas.

According to the expert, Ukrainian processors are now reorienting to the domestic consumer and the decline in butter prices is already noticeable.

The AMP predicts that this trend will continue in the future, but mainly in the form of promotions in sales networks: by 30-35% on store shelves.

Zhupinas summarized that such a decline significantly affected the purchase prices for raw milk.

So in mid-November, the cost of extra milk, which meets European requirements, decreased by 17%, and therefore, under such conditions, many producers work "at cost", and some even at a loss.

As the Ukrainian News agency earlier reported, the situation on the Ukrainian butter market is deteriorating, namely, after active summer exports, the warehouses of enterprises began to fill up, and the sale of products within the country is becoming more and more difficult.
