Russian drones violated Romanian airspace twice during attack on Ukraine

During another russian attack on Ukraine, one of the enemy drones flew into Romanian airspace, and an hour later radars recorded a second violation of the border.

The Ukrainian Air Force was the first to report this.

The Ukrainian Air Force was the first to report the risk of crossing the border. At 07:44 am, the Ukrainian military announced the presence of several russian UAVs near the border of the Odesa Region with Moldova and warned of a possible violation of the airspace of neighboring countries.

A few minutes later, it became known that one of the drones had probably already entered Romanian airspace. This was later officially confirmed by the Romanian Ministry of National Defense.

Romanian radars first detected the target near Tulcea County in the morning. At 06:28 am, two German Eurofighter Typhoon fighters took off from Mihail Kogălniceanu Air Base to monitor the situation. The drone entered Romanian airspace from the Ukrainian side of Vilkovo. At 06:50 am, an air alert was declared in the Tulcea area.

40 minutes later, two F-16 Fighting Falcons were also raised into the sky, and an alert was declared in Galati county.

At 07:50 am, Romanian radars recorded a second incursion of a russian UAV, this time over Galati. F-16 aircraft established radar contact with it.

Last week, Romania also recorded enemy drones over its territory and raised Eurofighter and F-16 into the sky.
