Ukraine does not export electricity to European countries. All generation is aimed exclusively at meeting the needs of domestic consumption.
This is stated in a message from the Ministry of Energy of Ukraine.
The department stated that as a result of air attacks by the aggressor country of russia, all large thermal and hydroelectric power plants were damaged. This led to a significant reduction in electricity generation capabilities.
"Therefore, all available capacities of domestic power plants are currently operating exclusively to cover domestic consumption - accordingly, electricity is not exported outside Ukraine," the ministry reported.
The Ministry of Energy recalled that the Unified Energy System of Ukraine is part of the European energy system. It is connected to the Polish, Hungarian, Slovak, Romanian and Moldovan systems. Because of this, there are technical electricity flows between them.
It was emphasized that some mistakenly or purposefully confuse these flows with commercial electricity exports.
"This is a natural phenomenon, determined by the laws of physics. As a rule, these flows are insignificant. But the hourly balance is always close to zero: as much goes abroad, as much immediately returns to Ukraine," the department concluded.
As Ukrainian News Agency earlier reported, on November 19, the ExPro publication wrote that Ukraine has not exported electricity since November 11. Before that, exports were minimal and limited to several hours a day.
Recall, on November 18, the European Union announced that the bloc was accelerating the integration of Ukraine and Moldova into the European energy system to reduce dependence on russia.
