President Volodymyr Zelenskyy recorded a video address to the Ukrainian people, in which he outlined the main challenges and issues related to the peace process. The corresponding statement was published on the head of state's Facebook page on Friday, November 21.
Zelenskyy stressed that now is the time for an honest and calm conversation, without rumors and speculation.
"Now is one of the most difficult moments in our history. Now the pressure on Ukraine is one of the most difficult. Now Ukraine may find itself facing a very difficult choice. Either loss of dignity, or the risk of losing a key partner. Or difficult 28 points, or an extremely difficult winter - the most difficult - and further risks. Life without freedom, without dignity, without justice. And so that we believe the one who has already attacked twice," the President said.
According to him, they will wait for the answer from Ukraine, which he already gave on May 20, 2019, when he swore allegiance to the state and promised to defend its sovereignty and independence, uphold the rights and freedoms of citizens, and abide by the Constitution and laws of Ukraine. Zelenskyy said that he would work with the United States and all partners to find constructive solutions.
He promised to work quickly so that at least two of the points of the plan were not missed - the dignity and freedom of Ukrainians, and so that the result would be an end to the war and not the end of Ukraine, Europe, and global peace.
As Ukrainian News Agency earlier reported, on November 21, White House spokeswoman Karoline Leavitt said that under the new peace plan, which was being worked on by US Secretary of State Marco Rubio and Trump's Special Envoy Steve Witkoff, Ukraine and Russia "will receive more than they will have to give."
