According to operational data, the volume of funds placed by individuals in bank accounts in hryvnia and foreign currency increased by 1.5% in October to a record-breaking UAH 1,341.851 billion.
This is evidenced by data from the National Bank, the Ukrainian News agency reports.
Since the beginning of the year, the volume of population deposits with banks has increased by 10.6% from UAH 1,212.775 billion.
Hryvnia deposits in banks during the reporting period increased by 1.5% to UAH 898.592 billion.
At the same time, the volume of population foreign currency deposits in hryvnia equivalent in the reporting month increased by 1.5% to UAH 443.260 billion.
Deposits of legal entities (hryvnia and foreign currency) increased by 2.8% to UAH 1,545.744 billion during the reporting period.
The average interest rate on hryvnia deposits (monthly average) in the reporting month for legal entities increased by 0.1 pp to 10.4%, for individuals – remained at 10.6%.
The rate on foreign currency deposits for legal entities was 0.6%, for the population – 0.9%.
As Ukrainian News Agency earlier reported, in 2024, the volume of population deposits with banks increased by 12.6% from UAH 1,078.346 billion.
In 2023, the volume of population deposits with banks increased by 16.5% from UAH 926.488 billion.
In 2022, the volume of population deposits with banks increased by 29.3% from UAH 719.418 billion.
In 2021, the volume of population deposits with banks increased by 6.8% from UAH 674.718 billion to UAH 720.932 billion.
