The Ministry for Development of Communities and Territories has launched a planned renewal of management teams and management systems at key state-owned enterprises in the maritime and inland waterway transport industry.
The Ministry for Development announced this on its Telegram channel, the Ukrainian News agency reports.
"The first steps were the dismissal of the leadership of the Ukrainian Danube Shipping Company (UDP) and the Ukrainian Sea Ports Authority (USPA)," the statement said.
The resignation of the head of UDP has already been supported by the newly formed supervisory board, and the Ministry is launching a transparent competition for this position.
This will allow attracting professional managers capable of ensuring efficient and transparent operation of the company, development of the strategically important Danube logistics route and strengthening the logistics sustainability of the Danube cluster and the economic security of the state.
At the same time, the Ministry initiates the creation of a supervisory board at USPA.
The Ministry further informs that such measures will also be implemented in the field of rail and road transportation, aviation.
It is noted that the Ministry continues to work on modernizing the management system of state-owned enterprises, ensuring qualitative changes and creating conditions for the effective development of port, air, rail and transport infrastructure of Ukraine.
As the Ukrainian News agency earlier reported, amid a corruption scandal in the energy sector, the Cabinet of Ministers on November 17 approved an action plan to renew the composition of supervisory boards and executive bodies of state-owned companies of the fuel and energy complex.
