Lending to economy updates its historical high

The volume of loans granted by commercial banks to the corporate sector and individuals, according to the National Bank's operational data, increased by 2.4% to UAH 1,313.045 billion in October.

This is stated in the report of the National Bank, the Ukrainian News agency reports.

Since the beginning of the year, the volume of loans in the economy has increased by 18.6% to UAH 1,106.8 billion.

The volume of hryvnia loans to legal entities in the reporting month increased by 1.7% to UAH 689.736 billion.

The volume of loans to households increased by 1.4% to UAH 334.133 billion in the reporting period.

In October, interest rates on hryvnia loans to businesses increased by 1.2 percentage points to 16.2%, while interest rates for households remained at 35.9%.

Interest rates for business loans in foreign currency amounted to 5.9%.

As the Ukrainian News agency earlier reported, in 2024, the volume of loans in the economy increased by 10.9% from UAH 997.877 billion.

In 2023, the volume of loans in the economy decreased by 1% from UAH 1,007.648 billion

In 2022, the volume of loans in the economy decreased by 3.5% from UAH 1,044.049 billion

In 2021, the volume of loans in the economy increased by 10% from UAH 948.386 billion to UAH 1,043.694 billion.
